This place is awesome. Such friendly staff. A good live DJ on Saturdays. Delicious food with big portions. I got the jerk chicken with Mac n cheese and collard greens and it was fantastic. Real good southern cooking. Just a hint of spice (heat) but nothing hotter than a nice medium heat. Tried the ribs as well and they were so tender and perfect. Large portions. You will not go away hungry. Really nice crowd too. Almost all the tables were full but service was fast enough no one was really waiting around. Really a very good flow of business.

This place is amazing. Great taste, great service. If you wait a little for your food it's only because it's made fresh. Hard to find a place were you don't need to add salt&pepper to your food. It's honestly hard to decide what to get because the whole menu looks amazing. The staff is really friendly and server was there when we needed her.

The first time I went with a large group of ladies dining in. It was a Tuesday evening and we were seated right away. The service was great and the food was fresh. Everyone had a great time. This place is great for dining in and for carry out. Pictured: Jerk Chicken Nachos, Ribs, Catfish.

Review of Yolanda’s Place Jerk & Soul Food – A Soulful Surprise in KokomoSo there we were, aimlessly scrolling through “food near me” like a couple of hangry treasure hunters when Google dropped a pin on Yolanda’s Place. We took the bait. And friends, this wasn’t just a hidden gem—it was a full-on buried treasure chest of soul food glory, right there in Kokomo, Indiana. Who knew? From the moment we walked in, we were greeted like family—like the kind of family that actually likes each other and cooks ridiculously well. I don’t have DNA results to confirm this, but I’m convinced everyone working there is related by blood, marriage, or shared seasoning secrets. And you can taste the love—every bite was like a hug from someone’s Southern auntie.I ordered the jerk chicken dinner with cabbage and collard greens, and let me just say: that chicken came with attitude. Spicy, flavorful, and unapologetically delicious. The cabbage and greens? Tender, savory, and clearly cooked by someone who understands the assignment. My husband ordered the catfish dinner with mac and cheese and candied yams. He got suspiciously quiet halfway through his plate, which means one of two things: he either blacked out from happiness or was too focused on not sharing. Either way, I respect it.And the best part? We hadn’t even finished eating before we were already planning our next visit. “Next time, I’m getting the smothered chicken,” I muttered like a person with a deliciously dangerous plan.10/10 across the board. Yolanda’s Place is the real deal. If you’re anywhere near Kokomo and not eating here, what exactly are you doing with your life?

Haters in the reviews is why I'm doing this. Foods AMAZING. Service was GREAT. Atmosphere was ON POINT. Quit with the hate it's a newer restaurant that's doing amazing, we need more spots like this around here.Yall putting bad or mediocre reviews need to stick to reviewing fast food joints. A good place to eat isn't always quick or convenient but the food is always good.

Yolanda's place was amazing! The best soul food I've had in all of the Midwest. I ordered the jerk chicken dinner with a side of candied yams and collared greens with smoked turkey. It also came with rice and a good chunk of cornbread. Everything was packed full of flavor and absolutely delicious. I did dine in, and the hostess and kitchen staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The hostess even served me some lemon tea she had made. It was a kind gesture and makes you feel right at home. I've heard the desserts are great but sell out quick. I'll have to come earlier to try the banana pudding. Also, I believe the place is new, so Google maps sent me to the back of the property. If you drive around to the front there's a good amount of parking. Please, please try this spot if you have not. It's certainly a treat!

First time going and it hit the spot! The weight of the containers was insane. They definitely don’t skimp. Down to the details. I got the rib dinner with cabbage and Mac n cheese. The ribs were amazing flavorful and super tender, fall off the bone! The cabbage was pretty good, needed some salt otherwise the seasoning was there. The Mac n cheese was good I wish it had more seasoning and salt. My fiancé got the salmon dinner and it was delicious. The salmon in a some hot sauce is the move! The candied yams were so good they were the first thing gone. The rice and cornbread were really good as well. Excited for the changes and future for them. Look forward to trying more things next time especially the collards and the butter garlic cheese fries.

We just returned from one of the best meals I’ve eaten in a long time. We were 3 people who love good food and we have good appetites. We had a half rack of baby backs, an order of their turkey ribs, an order of jerk chicken, and catfish. We all agreed the turkey ribs were in a class of excellence by themselves, followed by the jerk chicken, the ribs, and then catfish. ALL DISHES WERE EXCELLENT. The Turkey ribs were just so much better. We had collards, cabbage, yams, and Mac and cheese. All were excellent and the cabbage was the best of the four. We were visiting Kokomo. I will drive out of my way to eat at Yolanda’s again, it is just that good.
